The Feral Rats (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a small independent business based in the United Kingdom, selling glittery festival clothing and handmade pieces. We trade as The Feral Rats, based at Unit 3, Factory 3, Valhalla Industrial Estate, Dobles Lane, Holsworthy, Devon, EX22 6HN. We are the “data controller” responsible for your personal data. 2. The information we collect

We only collect what we need to run the shop and look after the pack:

• Information you give us — your name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number (if provided), order details and any personalisation text you ask us to print.
• Payment information — card payments are handled securely by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card details.
• Account & membership details — your login, preferences, membership tier and any Pack Badges you collect.
• Information collected automatically — basic device and usage data (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) through cookies and similar technologies.

3. How we use your information

• To process and deliver your orders, and contact you about them.
• To manage your account and membership.
• To provide customer support and handle returns.
• To send marketing emails about new drops and offers — only if you’ve opted in.
• To improve our website, products and service.
• To prevent fraud and keep the site secure.

4. Our legal bases (UK GDPR)

We process your data where it is necessary to perform our contract with you (fulfilling orders), where you have given consent (marketing and non-essential cookies), where we have a legitimate interest (improving and securing the site), and where we have a legal obligation (such as keeping records for tax).

5. Sharing your information

We never sell your data. We share it only with trusted providers who help us run the shop — for example our e-commerce platform, payment processor, and delivery couriers — and only so they can carry out their service. We may also share information where required by law.

6. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use:

• Essential cookies — needed for the site to work, such as remembering your cart and login. These are always on.
• Analytics cookies — help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

We keep your data only as long as needed for the purposes above, including meeting legal and accounting requirements. Order records are typically kept for six years for tax purposes; marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe.

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@theferalrats.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

9. Marketing

We’ll only send marketing emails if you’ve opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by emailing us. Unsubscribing won’t affect emails about orders you’ve placed.

10. Children’s privacy

We sell clothing for children, but our website and accounts are intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. Purchases should be made by an adult.

11. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including secure payment processing and encrypted connections. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we work hard to keep your information safe.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top will always show the current version.
